BTR Grads in Action

Since 2004, BTR Grads have been teaching across the city of Boston. They are now school leaders, instructional coaches, and classroom teachers who change lives every day.

CLARITY + INCENTIVES + TEAM APPROACH

Joan collaborates with Eric and other members of their team to help students stay focused and on task during class. They create a picture schedule that clarifies what learning looks like for each activity. Students get tokens if they were meeting the behavior expectations. They even differentiated the picture schedule based on students' learning needs.

LANGUAGE LEARNING + JOYFUL LITERACY + ANCHOR CHARTS

BTR Grad Cohort 22, Stephanie Santos, ESL 1 Teacher at Dearborn Stem Academy, creates a classroom environment where all students have access to academic language and joyful literacy experiences. A student of hers said, "Our teacher is beautiful, and so the classroom is beautiful."
